What's your story?
Rafa and Leo Pérez Parra are Venezuelan visual artists born in Caracas and currently based in Barcelona. Brothers and self-taught, they developed a lifelong connection with drawing, sculpture, and artistic interventions in spaces.
Rafa began his tattooing career in 2007 after training in various studios across South America, particularly in Brazil. Leo started in 2010, influenced by this shared experience. Tattooing became their first artistic medium and the means by which they could fully dedicate themselves to creation.
After emigrating—Leo in 2013 and Rafa in 2019—they both established Barcelona as their base of operations. Over the years, they have developed projects in various European countries, where cultural exchange broadened their visual language.
Although they share a common origin, their approaches are complementary: Rafa focuses his work on light, contrast, and narrative influenced by surrealism, while Leo relies on structure and a color palette inspired by the classical tradition of tattooing. They are currently transferring that experience to painting, combining black and grey with color in joint works where the skin is no longer the only canvas.
